As They Commence Climate Change Education in Nigeria

AFAB International Organization clinched partnership with The State Ministry of Environment, ANSG & Anambra Waste Recyclers Association (AWRA).


Afri-AID Across Borders (AFAB International Organization) held its preliminary meeting with the executive members of Anambra Waste Recyclers Association (AWRA) for collaboration and support towards Anambra Students Climate Change Education Club Project.

Addressing the respected executive members of AWRA in the virtual meeting, Engr. Ezeka Paul, founder and President of AFAB International Organization, emphasize the urgent need for collaboration on education and cooperate social responsibility. He also pointed out that the National Students Climate Change Education Club Project will not only educate the youth/students but it will be an additional opportunity for them to learn skills in the environmental sector as the organization and its partners will ensure a digital learning environment and its great potentials is unharnessed.


Educating our youth and the general public on climate change and environmental related challenges is key to ensuring a sustainable economic development in and the entire Nation.


The leader of AWRA, Amb. Philips Ozoemena Obuesi appreciated AFAB International Organization for the initiative in quote; Education advocacy is very important and we need it to be seriously activated in Anambra State. The climate change education initiative is in line with what the Anambra Waste Recyclers Association AWRA is actively doing, as the association have done various similar projects in the past and some are still ongoing.


The environmental and climate change education will reawaken the consciousness of the people towards their environment and health, and as a means of reactivating the needed action to protect, develop and maintain our environment is the responsibility of everyone and all hands should be on deck to achieve it. He also advocate for publicity and use of media to reach out to more people within the State and outside the State.


Nze Ugo-Akpe Onwuka (Oyi) - Media/Communications Director AWRA.who also participated in the meeting expressed optimism and assured AFAB International Organization that Anambra Waste Recyclers Association will give its support towards achieving the goals of the initiative.


He stated that, Anambra Waste Recyclers Association aims to significantly reduce the amount of waste in the state, aligning with the clean, green, and sustainable vision of the organization and the government as well as its education advocacy initiative.


He also commended the enthusiasm and courage of the AFAB management and assured AFAB International Organization of their partnership.


In conclusion, Engr. Ezeka Paul appreciates the leaders of Anambra Waste Recyclers Association (AWRA) and The State Ministry of Environment through  Dr. Felix Odumegwu, distinguished honourable commissioner for environment, Anambra State Government for endorsing the National Students Climate Change Education Club in the State and giving its full supports to achieve pollution free, clean, green, and sustainable vision in the State
